    3. Paul, Your note on the Chauvin book prompted a question I have had for some time. Nicolas Chauvin Sieur de La Freniere had a daughter named Hypolite, born c1714 in Mobile, from the union with an Indian servant, named Catherine. I have never found a marriage reference and there probably isn't one. However, I would like to firm up a baptismal record for Hypolite if possible. I have found the following which is incomplete: 'Catherine "dune saubagesse esclave du Sieur la fresniere" (Diocese of Mobile Baptism Book No. 1, Page 25). "once a servant of Chauvin de la Freniere."' I believe this is from the year 1718. This is the Hypolite who married Joseph Turpin and later married Joseph Du Lignon De Lamirnade. If anyone has access to these records, I would like a copy/transcription of the full entry and where I might be able to access it or at lease provide a source. My other lingering questions are what happened to Hypolite's mother Catherine? She had a Christian name, was she ever baptisted? What tribe did she likely belong to? Did Nicolas Chauvin leave a will? Any help appreciated. Thanks, Gary D
