    3. M    Winzerling's Acadian Odyssey was written in 1955. I do not believe we had a l'Amitie crew list until Rieder & Rieder The Crew and Passenger .... in 1965 The l'Amitie crew is listed on pg 100 to 103. I have been through it four times. Would someone go behind me & double check.    Winzerling probably assumed he was crew!!!!    Was he a crew member under a different name?  Did he work his passage without being listed as Crew?  Was he a stowaway?  Did he come to New Orleans on the mail packet (ship) from Havana or Santo Domingue?  Was he on another ship?  All are possibilities!!!!    The church register copy of the marriage is missing. We know of the marriage from the letter/report of 2 jan 1786 to Marigny. note on pg 205.    P    -----Original Message-----  From: mladner <marshaladner@att.net>    Hi C. P and All,    For a number of years I have been researching the "Gousman,Gusman, Guzman family  who arrrived in Louisiana aboard the L'Amite in 1785.      Many years ago I was referred to "Acadian Odyssey" by a genealogist/historian,  who said "reference could be found of Rosalia Carlota Guzman's marriage there  and she had married a member of the crew"      Would someone be so kind as to help me either disprove or prove that  statement. I only have a copy of page 202,203,204 and 205. They are named in  Appendix "E". I assumed this genealogist knew of what they apoke. Now I dunno?      The information I have that he was a crewman has been distributed by  myself to several persons and if he WAS NOT a crewman, several persons will have  to be contacted in order to correct it.      The following statement was in an email to the list a short time ago.  Thought the additional information below may help locate something of help.      She did marry twice, the first marriage to Lefaibre was shortly after  her arrival in New Orleans in 1785.. He was a crewman aboard the ship and "was  admitted as an Acadian"      If someone has access to Sacramental Records of this marriage it may be  of help also.      Thanks everybody,      Marsha      -----Original Message-----  From: KATheriot@aol.com    Marsha wrote:    I am researching two people from c. 1800 Louisiana. 3. P, Thanks for checking so thoroughly. We all know what assuming does. I didn't realize the info. from Acadian Odyssey was that old. Maybe someone on list has some ideas one way or the other before I send notice to researchers I sent the "crew member" information to. Thanks again, Marsha ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul L LeBlanc" <pleblan@aim.com> To: <acadian@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, September 07, 2010 11:33 AM Subject: Re: [ACADIAN] Claudio Epiphanio Lafaibre M Winzerling's Acadian Odyssey was written in 1955.
