Hi, The copy of the marriage record Pierre ? and Ines Broussard that I have is on page 95 of "someones book." BROUSSARD, Ines (Pierre & Marie DUR---) M. 3 Jan. 1788 Pierre VENYON. (SM Ch. V.4 #11) However, the entry directly above that one is: BROUSSARD, Ignes (Joseph & Ursule LEBLANC) m. Pierre VINCENT d 9 Dec. 1788 (SM Ch. v4. #31 Okay...what I think is that someone who gave me this information misinterpreted the entry of Broussard & Venyon as it being "Piere Veillon.? I believe they are two different families also. As I said, I'm going to put this one on the back burner for now. According to :"The Veillon Family- the Genealogy of Francois Veillon, Jean Baptiste Veillon and Marie Francoise Aubert had 8 children. One was Pierre Honore Veillon b1758 New Orleans, bt June 25, 1758 SLC, d 1828 in St. Bernard where he had a land grant Pierre & Anna Sanchez married 17 Oct 1814 in St. Bernard. In this marriage Pierre & Anna declared as legitimate their children born previously. Annmaria Candelaria Veillon and Francoise Antoinia Honoria Veillon. The marriage was approved by the Catholic Church on April 24. 1814 bestowing full rights of inheritance to the above children. Am wondering about those dates. How can it be approved by the Church before the wedding takes place? Can someone explain to me? Annamarie was born 8 June 1793 in St. Bernard, Francoise born about 1795 in St. Bernard Pierre Honore Veillon & Anna Sanchez had another child Pierre Honore Veillon, Jr. who was born after their marriage. He died about 1833 when he was 18 years old.. Louis Veillon (Jean B.Veillon & Francoise Aubert) married Marie Sudrick in 1789 St. Martinville. Francois b 1748(Jean B. Veillon & Francoise Aubert) m Helen Andre dit Lafleur =================================================== Aha, so my Rene LeRoux may have jumped ship! Not too common a name. Age 16 in late 1785 hmmm Bye for now, Marsha =================================================================================== Marsha In Rieder & Rieder The crew & passenger Registration Lists of the Seven Acadian Expeditions of 1785; 1965; Metairie; self published on LA Caroline 15 Oct 1785-12 Dec 1785 pg 79 under Cabin boys Rene LeRoux 16 of Nantes P)g 80 The ship was sold at port-au-prince the 5th of July 1786.The captain and a certain number of his men remained a moment(?) at New Orleans in hope of a new armament(?). Some other deserters: they were named Arnaud Fremain, Pierre Menou, Joseph Alleno, Antoine Mande, Francois Rice, Joseph (Le?) Blanc, and Rene LeRoux. See if he had interactions godparents etc. with these others. =========================== BROUSSARD, Agnes - [record has Ignes] (Joseph & Ursule LEBLANC) wife of Pierre VINCENT bur. 9 Sept. 1788 Died suddently of an accident of "apoplexy" [crippled by a stroke]. Fr. Bernardo de DEVA (SM Ch.: v.4, #31) =============================================== I see a mention of St-Bernard Parish of Attakapas in a St-Martinville register. Is it a chapel/mission? Where is it? (Breaux Bridge?) =============================================== The two married (adult?) VEILLONare Louis (Surgeon of New Orleans) & Francois both are sons of Jean & Francoise Aubert. Some confusion between VEILLON (at st-Martinville) & Meuillon (at Opel.) I wonder if one is a dit name? It looks to me like two completely different families. Who knows? =============================================== ADNO v 13 1818-1819 p 429 has Honorate (your Pierre Honore?) & Ana Sanchez daughter Francisca married in 1819. If married at expected 18 she was born 1800-1801 or as early as 14 1805-1806. They either married late or the contract was after the fact?
