Roebuck November 7, 1926 - February 24, 2010 Norwich - Yola Marie (Blanchard) Roebuck passed from our world into God's hands on Wednesday, February 24, 2010. She was born on November 7, 1926 in Mermentau, Louisiana, the youngest daughter of Dosita and Esperie (Broussard) Blanchard. She graduated from Esterwood High School where she was a star of the girls basketball team, setting scoring records. On November 27, 1945, she was united in marriage to Stephen J. Roebuck, Jr. in Neward, NJ. He predeceased her on Dec. 21, 1985. Always sports minded she played softball for the American Legion and cheered on the UCONN Women's Basketball team, attending many games with her family. She was a member of the Women of the Moose and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Laurel Hill Fire Company for many years. She spent 33 years working at the American Thermos Company until her retirement in 1987. Of all her life's accomplishments she will be remembered mostly as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She touched people in a way that cannot be learned because it comes from the heart. She is survived by her daughters, Donna M. Landry and her fiance, Ronald Donovan; Sharon Preble and her husband David Preble. The lights of her life her granddaughters, Lisa M. Zeppieri and her husband Anthony Zeppieri; Hannah E. Preble; and her two great grandsons Alexander P. Zeppieri and Jack M. Zeppieri. Also by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, two sisters Narris Crader and Lucy Blanchard and one beloved brother Ellis Blanchard. Visitation 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich, where the funeral will assemble on Friday at 1:30 p.m. and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Patrick.
