    2. Marsha In Rieder & Rieder The crew & passenger Registration Lists of the Seven Acadian Expeditions of 1785; 1965; Metairie; self published on LA Caroline 15 Oct 1785-12 Dec 1785 pg 79 under Cabin boys Rene LeRoux 16 of Nantes P)g 80 The ship was sold at port-au-prince the 5th of July 1786.The captain and a certain number of his men remained a moment(?) at New Orleans in hope of a new armament(?). Some other deserters: they were named Arnaud Fremain, Pierre Menou, Joseph Alleno, Antoine Mande, Francois Rice, Joseph (Le?) Blanc, and Rene LeRoux. See if he had interactions godparents etc. with these others. =========================== He would have been born abt 1769. The "Francois" buried in New Orleans was born about 1762. I assume an estimate & they are usually older? Was he an Acadian who "worked his way across"? There are less than a dozen LaRue & LeRoux entries Hebert's 1980 Acadian In Exile Can someone check them out? I will next try the Rieder & Rieder in France books & GM Braud Paul Le B l'Ascension Louisiane -----Original Message----- From: pleblan@aim.com Marsha I believe Spanish Renato is the same as French Rene (or this is what the priest heard) Does anyone have the webpages of English/French/Spanish first names? Could we have any & all spelling of LeRoux you may have seen La & Le; Roux & Rue etc ADNO does less standization then the other church books. ADNO v 8 p 199 Larrue Francisco, native of the town of Nantes in France [dept of Loire-Atlantique] sp Rosalia Landry 44 yr i Mar 12, 1806 (SLC, F6, 92) Note Lerue spelling. Note different first name. Not passenger on 7 ships. Tomorrow will check Reider & Reider Crew & Passangers. I wonder if related to Lash Larue the b-movie bullwhip using cowboy from Gretna, LA. Paul Le B l'Ascension Louisiane -----Original Message----- From: Marsha Hi, Trying to tidy up my database... Need more information on Rene Leroux and his marriage to Rosalie Landry. Seems there was a question as to what his 1st name was. See Power of Atty below. Rosalie Landry bt. Dec. 25, 1777 Asc. Parish (d/o Etienne Landry & Marie Brigitte Trahan) m Rene Lerous before July 1801. Power of Atty: -- Widow Brigitte Trajan Gusman of St. Bernard grants her Power of Atty to her son-in-law , Renato LeRoux, on this day July 22, 1801. She is here in New Orleans this day.. When Rosalie Landry remarries to Berthelemy Martin in 1810, she is named as widow LeRoux. Thanks again, Marsha
