    3. Hello Judith The one thing I want to pass on is to be fresh if you're going directly from Belle Rose to St. Martinville. It's a somewhat tedious trip. We all have our roots in Assumption Parish. We need to take your family back to 1900 and then we can use the Baron Rouge Church Register books. Please share what you have before 1900. If we do not have anything that early what do you have before 1930? Nothing earlier send what you have to me off list so we can kick some ideas around. There is no one printed source of when the Acadians arrived in LA. There are several lists for some of locations and none for other. Please check the Acadian Memorial online database for most of the arrivals. http://www.acadianmemorial.org/english/ensembleencore.html<http://www.acadianmemorial.org/english/ensembleencore.html> In Belle Rose the auto race track is the old Rodrigue plantation of my 2nd GGmother Claire Verret.. The courthouse is down the bayou in Napoleonville. Any ideas to get her started? Paul Le B l'Ascension Louisiane -----Original Message----- From: Judith Pate Dear Cousin Paul, I live in FL and want to come for the crawfish on Friday (March 19). I want to bring my 90 year old aunt LeBlanc (from Pascagoula, MS) so she can show me around Belle Rose and how to get to the court house or where ever we need to go to look up some records on my Grandfather (LeBlanc) and Grandmother (Blanchard). I am reading some information I found - Baton Rouge is the Diocese for Assumption Parish. Should I plan on going to Baton Rouge also? My grandmother was a Blanchard so I have some information on her, but would like to make copies of the pages in the Census or birth, death records. Also, do you know where I can get lists of the Acadians and when and where they entered LA? I need to plan my days out for that week so I will have everything done before we drive to St Martinville on Friday. I have been so busy for the past several months that I haven't had time to have some fun with this geneology. As the time gets closer, I'll let you know definitely if I will be able to make it. Until I did a mapquest for driving directions and maps, I didn't realize how far west St Martinville is from Pascagoula, and Belle Rose.
