    1. Re: [ACADIAN] Landryn Charles & Marie Le Blanc was Landry Pelagie m Francois Broussard
    2. Marie Le Blanc widow of Charles Landry do not have a daughter Pelagie with them in Oxford. Their son Charles was exiled to France so did not arrive in Louisiana until 1785. So unless someone has info on a daughter Pelagie & another son also Charles I think we can . "count them out." C ----- Original Message ----- From: Liz Hall Morgan from www.acadiansingray.com<http://www.acadiansingray.com/> (click on the left sidebar under "families," then choose Landry & family history links) I don't know how accurate it all is, but the site author certainly seems to hit a lot of major & not-so major sources w/his extensive research. There are other Pelagies there as well - if you use a "find" search, use an accent on the first 'e' & also try w/o the accent-- "born c1749, probably Pigiguit; daughter of Charles LANDRY & Marie LEBLANC; sister of Anne, Charles, Francois, Jacques, Joseph, Marie, & Pierre-Amand; exiled to MD 1755, age 6; in report of Acadians at Oxford, MD, Jul 1763, with brothers; arrived LA 1766, age 17; in Cabanocé census, 1769, left [east] bank, age 20, with family of brother Charles; in Ascension census, 1770, left [east] bank, age 20, with brother Charles; moved to Atakapas District; married, age 21, Francois BROUSSARD, son of Joseph BROUSSARD dit Beausoleil & Agnès THIBODEAUX of Petitcoudiac, c1770, probably Atakapas; in Atakapas census, 1771, unnamed, age 26[sic, probably 22], with husband, brother-in-law Amant BROUSSARD, Isabelle [probably sister-in-law Hélène] LANDRY, 1 son, & 1 daughter; in Atakapas census, 1774, unnamed, with husband & 2 children; in Atakapas census, 1777, age 28, with husband, 3 sons, & orphan Elizabeth BROUSSARD; in Atakapas census, 1781, unnamed, with husband & 11 others; in Atakapas census, 1785, unnamed, with husband & 8 others; died Lafayette Parish 13 Dec 1831, age 85[sic], a widow; succession record dated 19 Jan 1832, Lafayette Parish courthouse" footnote: "Wall of Names, 19, calls her Pélagie LANDRY; Hébert, D.,Southwest LA Records, 3:393 (Laf.Ch.: v.3, p.6), her death/burial record, calls her Pélagie LANDRY, m. d.Francois BROUSSARD, says she died "at age 85 yrs." but does not give her parents' names; Hébert, D.,Southwest LA Records, 3:393 (Laf.Ct.Hse.: Succ. #214), her succession record, calls her Pélagie LANDRY, m. Francois BROUSSARD, & lists her many BROUSSARD heirs. Her estimated birth year is taken from the ages found in the Cabanocé census of 1769 & the Atakapas census of 1777, not from her burial record, which, amazingly, is not too far off." Liz
