Looking for any information on Murphy and Agnes (Gremillion) St. Romain, of Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana. One known son, Myron C. St. Romain, b. in 1925. I suspect that Murphy is the Murphy J. St. Romain, b. Jan. 1893, son of Ernest and Eugenie (Plauché) St. Romain of Avoyelles. No information on Agnes Gremillion.... thanks for any help cheers, Gordon
There are some Canary Islanders & other Spanish passenger lists here: http://www.wadefalcon.com/ColonialSpanishFamiliesOfLouisiana/islenosfamilies.htm I don't have Spanish lines but found this site very interesting. I have some Falcon cousins. Thanks for the "Bulls" info....I should have guessed that. I appreciate you checking the records also, thanks.... I don't know if they brought their priests with them. Anna left Canary Islands with her family 1778 aboard the LaVictoria. Am trying to determine if the "Antonia" Sanches is my "Anna Sanches" d/o Gaspard and Beatriz dit Flores alias Hela. My "Anna" Sanches married Pierre Honore Veillon in St. Bernard in 1814. Their marriage "legitimized their children giving them full rights of inheritance upon Annemarie Candelaria and Francoise Antonia Honore Veillon. I don't think the Antonio in the baptism record is my "Anna". I believe someone put the record in the records of the historical Society because they thought it may be relevent. Can you find my Anna and her family on the ship's lists? According to what I have Anna left Canary Islands with her family 1778 aboard the LaVictoria. She was born 1768. Pierre and Anna had three children, one, a son(Pierre Honore,Jr. did not live to adulthood. and must have been born after their marriage in 1814. as he is not mentioned. The son died in 1833at age 18.?(Veillon Family Book) their 2 daughters were of age and married when their father died.. It seems, that after Pierre's death in 1822 the two daughters squabbled quitea bit, according to the records I retrieved from the St. Tammany Hist. Society in Hammond at Southeastern. All the children were born, bapt, and raised in St. Bernard Parish. Pierre Honore was born there also. (their Father) Annemarie and Juan Gusman has their 3 oldest children in St. Bernard the remainder of their children were born in St. Tammany Parish. Thanks one more time for all your help. Marsha

Marsha Original entry more likely in Spanish or Latin. Date two possibilities Most likely 28 sept 1785 I think the "to" is a bad translation OR 8 sept 1785 if the twenty refers to the 20th year of the reign of the Spanish King. The entry is not in ADNO v 4 because the father is not known. See pg x for explanation. Next library trip, see if they have the New Orleans Genesis Journal, The index book may point you to chronologcal listing for the mission at Galvestown or church at St-Bernard. Good hunting. Did the Islando bring their priest with them? Did he serve all 4 flocks as there is a mention of the records may be in the Baton Rouge Archives. There are Galves in both St-Bernard & Ascension Parishes (counties). Parish of the Bulls - Bayou Terre aux Boeufs =========================== Who is the mother & godmother? I went through passenger list twice would someone go behind me? On pg 220, I found a Isabel Antonio, sister, 6 of Jose Perera Sanchez married to Maria Santana. She would have been 13-14 at birth but possible. I did not see Marie Castro in the ship lists. I wonder if they followed OUR tradition of the boy's mother "claiming" her grandchild by being the godmother & having the child baptized (with or without parents permission) Did Antoinia later marry a Castro? Cousin During the Guédry presentation at the Acadian Memorial Festival yesterday the question was asked how she was related to MY Anne Dupuis married to Pierre's brother Jean-Baptiste? Pierre & Marguerite were probably married at Port Tobaco, Maryland. We have them at St Luis de Natchez in 1768 with a daughter & they also have a son. Marguerite & the children die before 23 Jan 1769 when Pierre remarries to Claire Marie Babin. This is one of 6 marriages recorded that day in the register of Pointe Coupee. I assume the priest came up the river to Natchez to tend to the flock there. The question is who are Marguerite's Parents? In Wood's Acadians in Maryland p 114-115 is Anne Braux (Breau) the widow of Jean Dupuis. Their daughter Monique later marries Pierre (& MY JB) brother Joseph 24 Mar 1773 at Ascension Church. Also listed in Port Tobaco with them is a daughter Marguerite who is not with them in Natchez. Could this be her? I cannot find another Marguerite in Maryland. Anyone have "Proof" that it is or is not her? Any other possibilities? Does anyone have parents of Jean Dupris & Anne Braux? Paul Le B l'Ascension Louisiane

(SM Ch.: v. 5, p. 243) I wonder which one he is? Anyone have any others? Looks like he later subtracted a few years from his age to be closer to wife's age. Did either of the families move to Texas? I wonder if Felix served in war and settled in Texas? Below is his family in the 1880 census. Another son Walter is born in 1882. Below that newly married couple in 1870. Any Texas experts out there?
