I will try and get you some help on this. I am trying to get in touch with an old classmate of mine, Chris D'Avy, a son of Clayton Jr.. I will post something as soon as I get in touch with him. Clayton D'Avy, Jr. was a well know architect in the Opelousas area and south Louisiana. Cousins Below is the ancestry, wives & children of Claude Guédry per Stephen A White's Dictionnaire. The Family researchers & association have him as the son of JB's Brother Charles and an Amerindian that family tradition has as Morning Star. This is the only case I am aware of a wife having a translated name. We also have a different(/similar) family name & parents for her. What does Bona Arsenault have? Oral tradition for the Guédry family is a little different in that in the 1960-70s Bernard Jeddry went to the branch on Bay St Mary, NS & collected the genealogy and the "great grandmother" stories that their grandmothers had told them. What is truth & what is legend who knows. This is some of my early work. In the next couple of days, I will update from my other sources & repost. Any errors let me know. Please remember this was an East Coast family & some researchers want to make everyone a resident of Port-Royal because that was where the Church & registers were kept. Ah, well.....ancestry magic for today #2's not your gal. Murphy & Agnes already have Genevieve for 1920 census New Orleans. (index shows family name as St Amand) (I view St RomainE) Family large for 1930 census New Orleans (index shows family name as Stromain) (clearly seen St.Romain!) Are we sure they left NO to have Myron in Opelousas and then back to NO? There's an online Avoyelles database -- usually fairly accurate -- has Agnes Gremillion d/o W. Slocum Gremillion and Ella Saucier m. 1915 to Willie Dupont. Both apparently lived into their 80s.
