Jean Marie Richard Does anyone know the correct name for the mother of Anne Anastasie Richard, b. 12 May 1835 in Donaldsonville? Her father was apparently Jean Marie Richard, b. ca. 1812, son of Michel Richard and Marie Rosalie Michel, but her mother I've seen as Eliza (or Elisa or Elizabeth) Meaux, Breaux, Alarie, or Alaric. No documentation anywhere I can find. 3. I believe that Alsy is Elie Landry, born 9 Dec 1802 in Plattenville, son of Amable Etienne Landry and Ursule Pitre; "Rosa" is Anne Rosalie Boudreaux, Elie's wife, b, 9 Mar 1805 in Plattenville. The couple married in Plattenville on 7 Nov 1825 and had four children (that I know of) -- Armogene, Eugene Bazile, Pauline Rosela, and Marie Eugenie. The youngest seems to be the "Eugine Narquine" on the lower record -- Marie Eugenie Landry (b. 25 Aug 1836 in Plattenville) married Adolphe Cleopha Naquin, son of Joseph Naquin and Celeste Prejean, on 27 Mar 1856 in Thibodaux. I have all of these people traced back further if you need it. cheers, Gordon On Sep 10, 2010, at 8:05 AM, Paul L LeBlanc wrote: > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Cecil Van Duzee > > > Hello > > I'm hoping for some help to find about Alcee and Rosa. > > In the 1880 census of New Iberia there is listed > > Alsy Landry 77, father bn. 3. Thank you so much for the translation info. It really helps. On the list, when you go to "Gusman" the ship is "Titon" Although it is under main page as "Friendship" (L'amite)Can anyone help here. However, I see no nothing on our Claudio Epiphanio Lefaibre. Could Lefaibre be translated to something. I do know when Rose Bonnevie died in St. Bernard in 1791 she was interred under "BUENAVIDA" Also found one ship as "Jerusalem Artichoke" Funny in translation. What ship might that be. Choose French to English as the parameters above the box, and click "translate." You'll get a translated web page. I have done this already for the Burgot web page here: http://tinyurl.com/276qt35 You can also type a word or phrase, or copy a block of text and paste it into the same Google translate box & get a translation. Not always a great one, but usually it helps & sometimes is rather good. (note that French surnames are sometimes translated, i.e. Semer becomes "Sewing.") I shall follow up on it for sure. Appreciate the information regarding the L'Amite amd the families aboard. It is impossible for me to imagine the feelings of the Acadians on these 7 ships. Sailing to a new and hopefully a better life in Louisiana, they must have been adventurers at heart.
