    3. Cousins it looks like the lists are back up. if you belong to any very active ones you may have been bounced off & did not receive a message that you had been unsubed. you may want to check your lists by using https://myaccount.rootsweb.com/ I have sent in resubs for several lists but have not heard back yet. ================ Let's start our holiday break. Between today and the Sunday after Thanksgiving please share stories, traditions, and recipes. Try and include at least one recipe from one of our other areas at your table. Everyone wants to feed the family dirty rice dressing? ================= We have less than a year to the Acadian Awakening celebration in Louisiana. I thought we would go through the families that are planning to hold reunions and share one or a couple of lines for each family. After we switch families I will do a "how related" for the people who share their lines. Often they will not be the family we are working. I will post a sample of a line soon. Let's start with the Guedry/Labine & Petitpas families, Then the Lejeune/Young, Followed by the the Le Blanc. After that we will do the other families. ============== Paul Le B(lanc) admin

    3. Hi, I don't know if you are aware of the new book about Iry Lejeune's life. It is excellent with lots of pictures of he, his band and his family. It's entitled "Iry Lejeune: Wailin' The Blues Cajun Style" and is available from Ron Yule at P. O. Box 819, DeRidder, LA 70634. 3. I bought a copy at Alexander Books on Congress St. in Lafayette a while back. They had a number of copies. You might check and see if they still have some. 1. [ACADIAN] Cattle Brands
    2. Looking to buy a book on Early Cattle Brands of the Attakapas area I found the book... "Cattle Brands of the Acadians and Early Settlers of Louisiana/ Attakapas" by Glenda Schoeffler at the local library but it seems it's out of print or the person cannot be reached for more information. If you know of any others I'd appreciate it.

    3. See Volumes 18 and 19 of Southwest Louisiana Records, by Donald Hebert. You will also find one of the lists without the reproductions of the brands in The Register, vol. 39, #3.
