Anyone who has spent anytime in Baton Rouge has seen his commercials for his auto dealerships where he also promoted LeBlanc Sausage. Does anyone have his Le Blanc line? After completing St. Gabriel High School and receiving his honorable discharge from the U.S. Marine Corps, he graduated from Spring Hill College in Mobile in 1947 and remained a dedicated alumnus. Before attending Spring Hill, Price LeBlanc claimed to have been a shy young man, a claim his many friends and associates find difficult to believe. After Spring Hill he began working in the cattle business, and in 1954, started selling automobiles at Standard Motors in Baton Rouge. He quickly went into business on his own selling used cars, and then Ramblers in St. Gabriel. In 1964, he opened a Chrysler-Plymouth dealership in Gonzales. The Toyota dealership which opened in 1969 recently celebrated its 41st anniversary. In the early 1960s, leveraging his cattle-rearing background, the "The Tradin' Country Boy" restored the old Louisiana tradition of lagniappe or something extra by giving his "Country Sausage" to all who gave him a chance to earn their business. In 1980, Price LeBlanc introduced the endearing and all familiar "Dahlin'" salutation and slogan in honor of his beloved mother. He often attributed his success and the attainment of countless awards for customer satisfaction and sales to a simple truism, "treat others as you would like to be treated." Quotes like: "Without our friends we're nothing!" and "Make sure you treat people right when you're going up the ladder, otherwise you just might see them again ... going down," are vintage Price LeBlanc. He lent support to and helped raise funds for many nonprofit organizations in the area including: Catholic Charities, Our Lady of the Lake Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Epilepsy Foundation of Louisiana, National Federation of the Blind, St. Joseph's Academy, Catholic High School, LSU, LSU 4-H, Spring Hill College and St. Gabriel Catholic Church. The LeBlanc family thanks those who attended to our Dad in his final years. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities, St. Gabriel Catholic Church, or the charity of your choice. He was a loyal son of his community and the congregation of St. Gabriel Church, whose rolls contain generations of his family going back to Acadia and France in the early 1600s. Andre & Gary, This did not seem to go through when I sent it on Dec 6, so I'll repeat. This Ane LEJEUNE is in SAW's Dictionnaire on p. 1054, as LEJEUNE #1 c. ----- Sorry Gary, But the wonderful online records from "An Acadian Parish Remembered" do not reveal the grandparents of Joseph LEJEUNE. The godmother "mar(r)aine" was Anne LE JEUNE, probably the aunt of the child, daughter of Martin LEJEUNE & his Amerindian wife. She was about 18 years old at the time of the ceremonial baptism, and a mother herself. At this time, women were always noted in records with their maiden (and only) names throughout life. Anne LEJEUNE would have been born a LEJEUNE, even though now married to a LABAUVE. Karen Theriot Reader

Thanks Karen. Another possibility is Joseph's sister Jeanne I have seen several cases where the JE was lost and the person reported as Anne. If (1)Pierre (SR) & unknown Doucet were still alive they would have been reported in the census of 1686 & possibly the 1708. In 1705 Unknown would have been at least 65 (first surviving child born abt. 1656 She would have been born 1640 or earlier). I do not think the family would have taken her across the mountains to attend the baptizem. Good call Gary! The only Anne Lejeune who lived at this time it was the sister of Joseph and she was born around 1699. So she's 5 years old at this time... So this Anne Lejeune must be the spouse of Pierre Lejeune, so this is Anne Doucet! Terrific! Paul, I believe that Pierre dit Briard LeJeune's "unknown" wife was "Anne" Doucet based on the baptismal record of Joseph LeJeune where they are listed as grandparents. Andre, I could only locate one confirmation in the (7) questions you posed. 1) The Alexis Gregoire LEJEUNE, son of Gregoire LEJEUNE & Helene DUMONT, was born to them in exile in France, baptized 13 Feb 1781 at Chantenay. He married on 15 May 1806 in Baton Rouge to Marie Marguerite TARDIF/TARDIT. The death date of 8 Sep 1827 does not seem to be in the Baton Rouge CCRecords, nor in Hebert's SOUTH LA RECORDS. However, I do not have a death date for him, although his last child was born 19 Dec 1825, baptized in Baton Rouge, LA. 2) There was a Zenon LEJEUNE, son of Joseph Briard LEJEUNE dit Young & Perrine Marguerite HAYES, who was buried on 30 Oct 1847 at Brusly, West Baton Rouge, LA: Zenon LEJEUNE, age 47 years (SJB-Brusly-4, 5). But he was not the same man married to Elvina DAIGRE, who would have been age 34. I find no other Zenon buried in West Baton Rouge between 1847 and 1850. 3) I could not find a death/burial listed in 1850 in the Baton Rouge RECORDS for Elisabeth GIBSON or wife of Julien LEJEUNE. 4) Servant Mathurin LEJEUNE was deceased by the 1810 census, when his wife Genevieve Marguerite PITRE was called the "widow Levron" in Lafourche Parish, LA. He died around 1806, according to Audrey B. Westerman, First Land Owners and Annotated Census of Lafourche Interior Parish, LA (Lafourche & Terrebonne), No. 542. But I find no record in Hebert's SOUTH LA RECORDS, vol. 1. 5) I find no death record for Marie Marguerite Rosalie THIBODAUX, widow of Alexis LEJEUNE, in Hebert's SOUTH LA RECORDS. However, under his name in vol. 2 there is an entry for a Petition for family meeting dated 7 Apr 1848 at Thibodaux Courthouse (Succ. #76), where she is listed as his widow, with six surviving children listed. This may mean they are now orphans. 6) In the SOUTH LA RECORDS, vol. 1, p. 364: Maximilien Jean Baptiste LEJEUNE, son of Alezin [sic] & Francoise Roslie [sic] TRAHAM [sic], died 14 Nov 1827 at age 30 years. (Thib.Ch.: v.1, p.37). The other Jean-Baptiste who was married to Marie-Rose DOUCET would have been age 26 on that date. I can find no record of his death. His last child I have was born 18 Mar 1826. 7) In Hebert's SLF vol. 4: Joseph Moise LEBLANC, married to Marie LEJEUNE, died 6 Aug 1866 at age 67 [sic] years (Thib.Ch.: v.2, p. 206, #23). He would only have been 61 years old. Marie LEJEUNE, married to Joseph LEBLANC, died 2 Dec 1867 at age 66 years [sic] (Thib.Ch.: v.2, p. 278, #65). She would have been age 62 on that date. I guess the last time's a charm. Karen
Hi everyone, Can someone help me with those issues below? The LEJEUNE in West Baton Rouge - Alexis {Grégoire} LEJEUNE, spouse of Marie TARDIT, he died in 1827, September 8, West Baton Rouge. Is this Correct? - Zenon LEJEUNE, spouse of Elvina DAIGRE, she died between 1847 and juillet 1850, West Baton Rouge. Does someone find the exact date? - Julien LEJEUNE, spouse of Elisabeth GIBSON, she died in 1850, April 16, Baton Rouge. East or West? Did I have the good date? The LEJEUNE in Thibodaux - Servan {Mathurin} LEJEUNE, spouse of Marguerite PITRE, he died in 1806, in Thibodaux. Is this Correct? Does someone have the exact date? - Alexis LEJEUNE, spouse of Marie Marguerite THIBODAUX, she died before 1848, April 7, Thibodaux. Is this Correct? - Jean-Baptiste LEJEUNE, spouse of Marie-Rose DOUCET, he died in 1827, November 14, Thibodaux. Is this Correct? - Marie Anne LEJEUNE, spouse of Joseph Martin LEBLANC, he died in 1866, August 5, Thibodaux. Is this Correct? Thanks for all! Andre

LORET, Adolphe Martin (Francois Claiborne Loret and Marie Judith BLANCHARD) bn. 11 Nov. 1849 , bt. 10 Feb. 1850, spo. Adolphe Loret and Lea Elfert (ASM-9, 314) LORET, Francois Alexis (Adolphe Loret and Marguerite Seraphine BLANCHARD) bn. 30 Dec. 1852, b t. 31 May 1853, spo. Francois Claiborne Loret (ASM-9, 963) Francois Claiborne and Adolphe Loret were brothers, sons of Francois Charles Adolphe Loret and Marceline Marie Bourg of Plattenville. Cousine Maria was the first person we found with an all female line to Catherine Bugaret. From Maria's mtDNA, Catherine was old world Haploid H. Maria has another Henriette line and two from her sister Isabelle We will see another of her lines when we do the Broussards. Josephs son Jean-Gregory married Anne Le Blanc ((32) Rene of Miramache & (7g)Anne Theriot). Jean-Gregory dies & Anne remarries to Pierre-Benjamine Bourgois. Anne then dies & the children are split amoung the relatives so some came to Louisiana & some stayed in what would become Canada. ============================ (1)Claude Petitpas m 1658 Catherine Bugaret d/o Bernard Bugaret & unknown (1h)Henriette Petitpas m 1691 (3)Prudent Robichaud s/o (1)Etienne Robichaud & (1a)Francoise Boudrot Jeanne Robichaud m 1734 (53)Joseph Landry s/o (5)Claude Landry & (2c)Marguerite Theriot Theotiste Landry m 1772 Joseph Gauthier s/o Joseph Gauthier & Marguerite Bugeaud Natalie Claire Gauthier m 1795 Jean-Louis Robichaud s/o Pierre Robichaud & Anne Michel Anne Robichaud m 1824 Pierre-Luc Daigle s/o Francois Joseph Daigle & Marie-Blanche Leger Natalie Daigle m 1847 Pierre Arsenault s/o Charlemagne Arsenault & Rose Daigle Marie-Henriette Arsenault m 1869 Alexandre Gray s/o Jean Gray & Henriette Robichaud Marie-Natalie Gray m Fidele O Robichaud s/o Olivier Robichaud & Henriette Richard Mother Robichaud m Father Breau Maria
Looking for the Olivier Blanchard in the following record: BLANCHARD, Odile (d. Olivier & d. Elise CHAMPAGNE) m. 6 Feb. 1879 Erasme BONIN (SM Ch.: v. 10, # 764) I have a possible marriage for Olivier and Elise of 1 June 1854 in St. Martinville; the poster of this record listed parents for Elise (Paul Louis Champagne/Louisa Picard) but no parents for Olivier. Does anyone have access to the original record, and might possibly know who Olivier Blanchard's parents are? thanks, Gordon
