One thing I like about being on an email list is that you sometimes get to learn things you didn’t know you wanted to know. Case in point, this conversation. I learned the situation regarding the Peterculter OPRs - one of the parishes of my Scottish ancestors - and I got information about John Glennie & Jane Mennie that I didn’t have before. They are not blood relations to me but their granddaughter, Jane Massie (daughter of their daughter, Mary), married my great granduncle, Alexander Michie in 1852. Thank you! Maybe they never married, but they did have two more (at least) children, Mary born 1802 and Alexander born 1797. I have checked all over the place, including Scotlandspeople, Family Search/Ancestry. I even went to IGI. I agree with Venita. It's wonderful getting new information, or some information that will help you continue on. Anne Godfrey Anyone can count the seeds in an apple; but only God can count the apples in a seed. Women will never be equal to men until they can walk down the street with a bald head and a beer gut, and still think they are sexy. If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong. > From: [email protected] > Date: Wed, 15 Jan 2014 10:13:02 -0700 > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [ABERDEEN] John Glennie & Jane Mennie, marriage - Peterculter, Scotland - 1790's? > > One thing I like about being on an email list is that you sometimes get to learn things you didn’t know you wanted to know.
