My great Grandfather John Geddes was at sea in all the census since his marriage His wife Margaret Geddes ( M.S. Henderson) and family all in Aberdeen in 1889, 1901 & 1911 On his marriage cert he is listed as sailor, coasting trade. I know before he died mid 1920's he was on a fishing boat, he fell to his death from the mast Also unable to find his death on Scotland's People Also tried Ancestry for his death in England On his marriage cert his parents are James Geddes & Barbara Geddes ( M.S. Morrison) both deceased I have looked for their deaths. I have been unable to find him on any census pre marriage. He is listed as 24yrs on his marriage in 1885 making his birth aprox 1861 The only record that comes near to fitting it is the 1871 Ganrie census has Barbara Morrison unmarried with son James ( I believe interchanable for John ) aged 9yrs. I would be really grateful for any suggestions . I have tried for years to find something so maybe someone having a fresh look might have an idea where I can go from here.
