    3. Hi Jo-Anne I support Gavin's view about researchers. We have been in touch with someone who can read medieval docs and translate the Latin bits [essential skills] and she has sent us summaries of several early Sasines. I feared she would be terrifically expensive but in the event she was very helpful, very quick AND comparatively inexpensive. I don't think she could do the research you need but there must be someone on the List who would know someone. A word of warning, the Kirk Session records can take a long time to get through even though they are in date order because there is often a certain amount of toing & froing in getting people to appear. We had one case where the records spread over several years and took hours to fully read. It's fascinating stuff so well worth doing it yourself!! Good hunting.
