ScotlandsPeople is a fantastic resource, but it has its limitations. You can use it to search for records in which specified people are baptised or married. But you'll learn a great deal more about other events within a similar timeframe in the same parish by browsing other pages from the same register. That's usually only possible if you can see the microfilm of the parish register. In Scotland these are held by the larger family history societies and local libraries. Further afield the easiest means of access is to order the film from your local LDS centre.
