Hi Goldie, If you are referring to civil registration here, post 1855, then the religion of the person makes no difference - all marriages (and births and deaths, with a few odd exceptions)should be registered after 1855, not just those of Church of Scotland members. BEFORE 1855 it depends on whether the person could afford to register the birth, whether they paid for mort cloths, and on their religion (and whether the records survive) as to whether you will find a record of life events in the OPR. And the amount of information available depends on the clerk, pure and simple - there were no rules as to what they had to record for these events. Louise > I think (I hope) I said at the beginning of the message that Civil > Registration began in 1855.....so, for example, if you had someone born > previously and married in 1855 or after you would that info on Scotlands > People, most likely, if they were Church of Scotland members.
