Civil Registration began in Scotland in 1855, so if your folks are born before that, you will need to see the Films on the Old Parish records, or go to Scotland's People and take your credit card. 6 Pounds will get you 30 credits and you will need 6 credits per selection. For example 1 credit will show you what they found under Alexander Davidson and then you choose which one you think it is, and 5 credits will get you a copy off the Old Parish Records. I would suggest looking for a marriage registration or investing in the marriage certificate, again also with Scotland's People. This will also tell you who their parents were, where they married, and their ages. Another suggestion would be the 1891 census for Scotland which should list their address, and all in the home, also at Scotland's People.
