It's a small subset of the population though -- those who have the geek in them tend to be younger, and those who have the gene-quest in them tend to be older, and the intersection set is small. I recently received an email from Google introducing a new service/program called Google Wave. It's still in the development stages but it promises to allow what you would like in your perfect world.
