Hi, Kathleen, I don't have your family in my lines but I have seen the names of Jane, Janet, Jannet, and Jessie used interchangeably. I have also seen relatives who came to the "New World" go back to the "homeland" so it is posssible that your Jane is Jannet and she went back home to get married. If you can find her in a census as a married woman look to see age and where she was born... that may help you determine if she is the same person. Also look for a death record in Scotland of Jane / Jannet and perhaps it will have information to help you link the families. Good luck! Hope you get a great Christmas present in finding a link to your family!
