Check ScotsPeople OPRs to see if the man had any kids in Belhelvie, then widen the search... you can search via parent. You could also do a death search on the OPRS, though the are limited. I have been informed that he may have gone to America. Can someone help me as to where to look to see if this is indeed the case or whether he stayed in Scotland please. I cannot find anything else on him other than his christening. Hoping that someone is able to help. On the record for William's birth you will see two film numbers for births in the OPR. If you click on one of those you get a search screen which will let you look for anyone with the surname = GARDEN or GAIRDEN, etc and father = William. This will show that William had no children in Belhelvie [it also shows by putting father=James that William had one sibling for certain, Robert, and five possible ones where the mother wasn't named]. This initial search could save you credits on Scotland's People but it is always worth thinking about confirming relevant IGI entries on ScP. Rremember also to exclude LDS submissions on the IGI as the source for those isn't revealed. -- Best wishes Ray ********************************************************** >From Ray Hennessy Forenames website: www.whatsinaname.net Preferred Email address: ray@whatsinaname.net Hints for Scotland's People at http://bit.ly/WIAN-SCP **********************************************************
