That is what Scottish "Feu Dispositions" do - they describe the piece of land, and list the successive owners. They normally do not mention any buildings which might happen to be on the land - these come as a bonus! > > > QUESTION: > > Do land deeds/land settlements survive from mid 19th centuryAbeerdeen > that one can search/order which might go into further detail on all > these property transfers?. Yes. Land transfers were recorded in various "Registers of Sasines". These were originally compiled separately for each County, and older ones for Aberdeen town are still held by Aberdeen City Archives. However, I think the Registers for mid-19th century Aberdeen are now at the National Archives in Edinburgh. > > when i was researching in Nova Scotia (Canada) i found many old land > deeds/settlement which outlined the division of property naming heirs > and giving relationships of all concerned Entries in the Sasine Registers will tell who who owns the property now, and who owned it previously. It will not tell you about any other family of the owners, present or past, unless the ownership was shared or joint. Gavin Bell
