My family interests are on my mother's family. Her family line I have so far - Margaret McMann born Mill of Glanderstone Premnay 1875 died South Australia 1959 Father William McMann B. Dufftown Banffshire abt 1830 - died 1893, Insch, Aberdeenshire Mother Anne Mavor 1832 Glass, Aberdeenshire George Mavor abt 1798, Isobel Allan B. abt 1802 Cairnie, Aberdeenshire Granny Margaret McMann married Alexander McRobb( Insch 1897) who was born 1872 Middleton, Premnay.died South Australia 1943. Father Alexander McRobb Edingarioch not married to Margaret Smith ABT 1855 Premnay, Aberdeenshire. Margaret Smith married Henry Laing in November 1875 and had 10 more children who would have been half siblings to my grandfather. Henry Laing was with his grandmother Helen Mortimer as an 11 yr old in 1861 census Gf Alexander McRobb is listed as a lodger with the Laings in the 1881 census All info is from a mix of Ancestry and Scotlands People. I would be interested in finding any other people who have been researching any of these families. My mother thought that some female on the Mavor line had come from Ireland. Thank you, Denise

Hi Denise Your mention of the Mavor family at Glass caught my eye. I have a note of a number of Old Parish Register entries for William Mavor and Isobel Brander. They were married at Glass in 1786 and then had 5 daughters, one every two years, until at last in 1787 they had a son George.
