    3. Many thanks Gavin, the info was from the O.P.R.s for Nigg Kincardinshire, -----Original Message----- From: aberdeen-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:aberdeen-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Gavin Bell Sent: 11 January 2010 20:38 To: aberdeen@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ABERDEEN] Woods of Torry Aberdeen Ralph Smith wrote: > IS THERE ANYONE THERE !!!!!!!. > > Does any person have any info on the above Woods family > > James Wood and George Wood were twins born in Torry Aberdeen in Jan > 1841. What is your source for this information? Torry did not become part of Aberdeen until the end of the 19th century, after the former estuary of the River Dee had been reclaimed, and the Victoria Bridge built. In 1841 it would have been considered as part of the parish of Nigg, Kincardineshire, and any births there would be recorded in the OPRs for Nigg, not in the records for Aberdeen.
