HI The answer to your question is NO. Everything is done through the Military and any ID is done through the Military. Unless they are civilians did they need a passport. Do the soldiers today need a passport to go to war???? NO!!! Hi I'm not sure about the Australian Army but the Navy have a special military passport. I have a son in the Navy and he is currently on operation in the Gulf. Judy Tasmania
