Hi List   I would like to thank everyone who gave me input with my problem of Charles Summers.   Karen His B.C. said that he was illegitimate and only his mother's name was on it but I am sure that the father's name would have been George Gray as I have not ran across the name George or Gray in any generation of this family. I have the OPR of his grandparents marriage and it was 2 years before his mother was born so she was not illegitimate, in the 1901 Census she was still unmarried and living in Edinburgh. His age at the time of the marriage was 30 and when he signed up for the Army the D.O.B. was right as it gave the actual date and further on the paper it also stated that he was age 39 years 8 months and 5' 3" tall.   Thanks again everyone Adeline
