Hi, until I can establish my William Gordon's parentage,c1888 his mother should be a Jamieson (spelling variations may apply) then I will have to hold fire on any progress backward. I will keep this in case there is a link when I find my William Gordon's parents Many thanks Ann As ever, Gavin is spot on. In 1851, Jean Norrie (Nee Wyllie), mother of Jane Norrie ( spouse of John Gordon ) is living in East Street, Fetterangus, Old Deer as a widow with her daughter Isobel. If this is the family that the original poster was seeking, I have some additional information. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gavin Bell" <g.bell@which.net> To: <aberdeen@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, February 05, 2010 5:39 PM Subject: Re: [ABERDEEN] William Gordon > Kathy Stevenson wrote: > >> I just had a quick look at the 1881 Census and I found William Gordon >> Sr. when he was 22, living at home with his mother Jane (b. abt 1819, >> Old Deer, Banffshire), and his brothers and a sister.
