I think I will do that since I am now scratching for details. The 2 marriage documents were worth viewing. ... ___________________________________ Hi again Jim In my experience you have - perhaps luckily - approached the OPR records the wrong way round. Baptisms are usually far more valuable than marriage entries. Marriage entries very often only record the two names and, if one is from elsewhere, occasionally another parish. If you got more from OPR marriage entries then that was fortunate. As Jen says, baptismal entries often have extra information, sometimes even a gold brick. We once found an entry which said one witness was the grandfather of the child. It got us another generation for free! But in several cases witnesses were siblings of the parents, and some were actually named as such. This provided valuable evidence for identifying the next generation. I hope the William LUMSDEN I found in Scotland's People is yours. -- Best wishes Ray ********************************************************** >From Ray Hennessy Forenames website: www.whatsinaname.net Preferred Email address: ray@whatsinaname.net Hints for Scotland's People at http://bit.ly/WIAN-SCP **********************************************************
