There is an extensive Web Site shows the family , with Transcriptions of Baptisms, also Census information. It does not seem to say who the Researcher is, however, the info' resembles that sent to me from a Cheyne family something like, 18 or so, years ago. I did not look for your Cheyne names, but it is quite possible that they are there. I think that the original Researcher died, & his son continued with the amazing amount of Research. A few months ago I received a printout of a Cheyne family tree that seems to have disappeared from rootsweb ? It showed a generation of Lumsdens in Banff with A father William and a son William b 2 April 1779. My GG grandfather was born in Gamrie around 1780. (census info) He married Ann Callum there in 1816 and had a son William in 1809 in Gamrie. The Cheyne printout says William's death was in 1804. Is this solid ? Your Chapel street question refers to Stonehaven I assume. I can not answer that question but I recently "walked" down high street there with google street view and it was great. Can you guide me to the cheyne family tree ? I had a 5th great uncle Gordon CHEYNE who was living there with his wife on the 1851 census. 61 years later in 1912, James WRAIGHT the estranged husband of Gordon's grand niece Mary Ann CHEYNE died there. I was there in 2001 and if the numbering is the same, it is now a carpark. It maybe just a coincidence but I was wondering what type of establishment was there in 1851 and 1912. I would appreciate any help or information.
