    3. Now I'm confused - too many Parks - which one is it - there is one at Cornhill, north of Huntly, I assumed it was that one if the Gordons had a connection. There is another on Deeside. I don't know of one at Lonmay but - wait - something is coming to me! Checked multimap. That's right I used to do work for a guy at Park there - I don't know if it was ever an estate in its own right though. 3. Will this help anyone? I am looking for the parents of Isobel Shireffs (various spellings there) who was born about 1772 in Lonmay. On the Hugh Wallis site, there are many there about that time. But no Isabel. She married John Walker in 1794 in Peterhead. On the 1845 Statistical Account it refers to "Estate of Park" and a John Lumsden Sheriffs, Esq., of Blairmormond, and that the estate belonged to the Frasers. I did find a Thos Sheriffs married to a Fraser, no first name in Lonmay in the 1770 time frame, but no Isobel. Then I got to thinking just maybe I could find something else out IF I had any info on the Estate of Park. This one is in or near Lonmay ABD. Thanks for the help from the Listers......Goldie ----- Original Message ----- From: "Isobel Davidson" <Isobel.Davidson@tesco.net> To: <aberdeen@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, November 05, 2009 3:19 PM Subject: Re: [ABERDEEN] ESTATE OF PARK > Now I'm confused - too many Parks - which one is it - there is one at > Cornhill, north of Huntly, I assumed it was that one if the Gordons had a > connection. 1. [ABERDEEN] ESTATE OF PARK
    2. goldie and Lido Doratti
    3. Would any listers have any idea where I could find some info on the Estate of Park, and John Lumsden SHERIFFS, Esq of Blairmormond -- Lonmay I believe, but could be wrong. It is mentioned on the 1845 Statistical Account and apparently belonged to the Frasers. I have a John WALKER who married Isabel 'Shirres'.. and various other spellings.....16 Jan 1794. He was a Mason in Peterhead. Her death record in 1850 has her spelled SHIREFFS They had 8 children all born Peterhead most of whom look like they were whalers or fishermen. The children are born 1795 - 1815 all Peterhead. The names out of marriages of these 8 children are: Morrison, Mathieson/Mathison, Scott, Burnettt/Burnet, Arthur. circa 1825 forward. Any help is welcome, and thanks, Goldie

    3. Hi Jen, Thanks so much for the info, and yes, I would like a copy. I have been totally confused by this as Francis stated in all the census records that he was born at Gartly, but I could not find a baptism for him there. Auchindoir makes complete sense, as I know the family moved from there to Gartly and later on to Kennethmont. I will now be able to order up the film for Auchindoir, and will probably find what I am looking for there. What is your connection to this family? I am interested in that you appear to live in Australia (as we do) and I am doing this research for my son-in-law who also now lives here. I have all the census records, and if you would like to have copies of them, let me know.
